Build courses, get paid in Kyat, and issue branded certificates.
1. Apply to teach
Sign in, then go to Apply to teach. Fill in your profile, expertise, and upload your credentials. An admin reviews within ~48 hours — you’ll be notified by email + in-app when your role is upgraded.
2. Create a course
From Dashboard → My Courses, click + New course. Fill in title, subtitle, category, language, price. Course starts as DRAFTuntil you’re ready to submit for review.
Categories are pre-seeded around EMPO Academy’s sector focus: MEAL, KoboToolbox & Data Collection, Proposal Writing, Reporting, Organisational Systems, Training Design, and Project Management. Pick the closest match — if nothing fits, contact an admin to add a new one rather than forcing your course into the wrong slot.
While the course is DRAFT, the editor’s Settings tab shows a quality checklist— 11 advisory checks (description length, learning outcomes, target audience, cover image, assignments or quizzes for “field-ready” status, etc.). It’s not a publishing gate, but it’s the shortest path to a course that converts.
3. Build the syllabus with blocks
Each lesson is a stack of blocks. Available types:
- Text, Heading, Statement, List, Divider, Callout
- Column (2-, 3-, 4-column nested containers)
- Image, Video, Audio, Drive resource, Link button
- Knowledge check (single inline question), Quiz, Assignment
Drag to reorder. Duplicate, swap type, or delete from each block’s menu. Drip-release timing and prerequisite locks live in the lesson settings strip at the top of the editor.
4. Customize the certificate
Open Course → Edit → Certificate section. You can:
- Upload a co-brand logo (shown beside the EMPO Academy logo)
- Upload a signature image
- Set signatory name + title (defaults to your instructor name)
- Add an accreditation footer (free-form text)
- Pick a theme color (orange / navy / emerald)
- Set default skills (Open Badges 3.0 / CTDL-aligned) — auto-applied to every cert from this course
See a live preview while you edit. Existing students’ certs re-render with your new template — no need to re-issue.
5. Submit for review
Once your course has a title, description, at least one module, and at least one lesson, click Submit for review. An admin reviews and approves — or sends it back with a note if something needs tweaking.
6. Manage students + money
- Submissions: review quiz and assignment submissions; grade short-answer responses. Any course collaborator(COAUTHOR or EDITOR) can review too — not just the course owner. The submissions dashboard auto-filters to the courses you author or collaborate on.
- Announcements: post updates to all enrolled students (in-app + email)
- Q&A: answer questions from the course page
- Earnings: see lifetime gross, awaiting payout, paid out. Request a payout when ready — admin processes via your preferred method
- Certificates: see every cert issued from your courses. Revoke or resend the recipient email if needed
7. Automate with AI agents (optional)
Mint an API key at Dashboard → API keys and plug Claude / Cursor / any MCP-compatible agent into the platform. Your key inherits your instructor permissions, so the agent can only touch your own courses. Start here.
