EMPO Academy is a multi-instructor online learning platform created by EMPO. We help Myanmar experts share what they know — and make it easy for anyone in the country to learn, pay locally, and grow.

Our mission

Quality online learning shouldn't depend on a foreign credit card or a stable VPN. We're building a place where Myanmar instructors can publish courses in Burmese and English, and where learners pay in Kyat through the same apps they already use every day.

What we care about

Local payments, local trust

KBZ Pay, Wave Money, and bank transfer — no international card needed. Real people review every payment so problems don't get lost in automation.

Real instructors, not influencers

We work with practitioners who do the job, not aggregators. Every approved instructor is a real person with a real portfolio.

Open road, not gatekeeping

Anyone with expertise can apply to teach. We approve fast, give honest feedback if you're not ready yet, and keep growing the catalog as Myanmar's skills grow.

Why we built EMPO Academy

EMPO started as a small team helping Myanmar organizations adopt better digital tools. Over and over we saw the same gap: smart, motivated people who couldn't access the courses they needed — either because the platform wouldn't take their payment, or because the content was never translated, or because the instructor never understood local context. EMPO Academy is our attempt to close that gap one course at a time, working with Myanmar instructors and Myanmar learners.
