Training & Workshop Readiness Checklist
Run a structured readiness check before your next training or workshop — confirm your objectives, participants, venue, materials, facilitation plan, accessibility, and follow-up are genuinely ready, not just assumed.
About 10 min · no sign-up
A workshop succeeds or fails long before the first participant walks in. The strongest facilitators are not the ones who improvise well on the day — they are the ones who prepared so thoroughly that the day runs itself. This checklist walks you through everything a training or workshop needs to be ready: clear learning objectives and a realistic agenda, the right participants invited and confirmed, a venue and logistics that actually work in your context, materials and equipment tested, a facilitation plan with energizers, genuine accessibility and inclusion, a way to measure learning, and a follow-up that turns a one-day event into lasting change.
Use it a few days before your event, not the night before. Work through each group, tick only what is genuinely done, and watch the critical (make-or-break) items closely — a missing flip chart can be improvised, but an unconfirmed venue or untested projector cannot. Your readiness score and the guidance for your tier tell you whether you are ready to facilitate with confidence or still have gaps to close. Share it with your co-facilitator and logistics colleague so everyone agrees the workshop is ready to run.
This workshop is still taking shape. Start with the foundations: confirm the learning objectives, the participants, and the venue, then build the agenda, materials, and facilitation plan from there. Use this checklist as your planning roadmap and revisit it as each piece comes together.
